Good condition, 6,5/10, Made in Fullerton, CA, USA, Including CITES Certificate, including original Swedish Järnacase supplied by the Swedish distributor Hagström for all Fenders sold new in Scandinavia during this era, lots of wear on the body, including both covers and with all original parts, has been refretted in the past and has some fret wear, neck stamp 5JUN63C, both original pots are 3046329 (Stackpole from 29th week of 1963) and have the Fender specific part number 70-2512-0034, the year/week numbers were covered by solder but since the tone pot had already been removed once (the explanation is that the tone pot was removed by previous owner since he only used the volume pot, but has now been reinstalled) we decided to clean off some solder to clearly see the dates (otherwise we would have left them covered of course, rule number one is don't mess with originality, right?), has some pencil scribbles in the pickup cavity which can be read 1/8 or similar, tiny crack in the pickguard by the outputjack, the pickup measures 12,20kOhm (normal for this era), more info:

Around the middle of 1957, Fender made another very important change to the Precision Bass, replacing the single coil pickup with a split-coil design. This is actually a humbucking pickup, but Fender couldn't call that out in advertising or catalogs due to the fact that Seth Lover's patent hadn't yet run out. This era also sees the headstock shape change into something that more closely matched the Stratocaster model. In late 1959, a slab rosewood fretboard with clay dot inlays was introduced, as was the case with the entire Fender line. In mid-'62, this changes to a thinner rosewood veneer, and then the clay dots were replaced with pearl dots in '64. This was the last run of P-Basses made before the CBS buyout in 1965.
