Very Good condition, 7/10, Made in USA, weighs 3,54kg (about 7,8lbs), including the original hardcase that was supplied in Sweden during this era (a yellow/brown Järna hardcase).

This is a very rare and highly collectable instrument, rare custom color Candy Apple Red which in this era meant that the factory sprayed translucent red over firemist gold. Sunlight and wear has turned the color almost orange in some areas but the red is strong on the back and under the pick guard, has been refretted at some point with large frets that have some wear, and it also has a new nut.

It is well known that 1967 was a year when the production of Stratocasters was nearly stopped (this was before Jimi Hendrix made the Strat popular again) and most the attention at the Fullerton plant turned to Telecasters and basses, but there were a few made from leftover bodies and neck from 1966, and most of these were stamped with the 67-stamp in the second half of 1967.

This one is stamped 13SEPT67B and has 100% factory original parts including the F-style tuners, transition logo, worm rout, Pat Pend bridge saddles, 3-way switch and 3 black bottom pickups that all bear the pencil date 9-11-67 and measure Neck: 5,76 kOhm Middle: 5,87 kOhm Bridge: 5,62 kOhm when measured on the cable. The pots are dated 1376618 and one is dated 1376624, single string tree the rw fingerboard is light in color, missing the back plate and one screw in the back is broken off and the tip is still in the hole, belt buckle wear, and lots of worn patches in the finish all over. The tip of the pick guard has been glued back to the original aluminium shield so it stays on and the standard crack by the neck pickup is there as well.
